What Sphere does
The app
Sphere is a floating capture tool for Android. A small sphere floats over your other apps; you use it to record your screen or take long, auto-scrolled screenshots, and the app turns the recording into searchable text on your phone.
Your account
Sign-in required
Sphere requires an account before you can capture. You sign in with an email address and password, or with your Google account. Sign-in is provided by Firebase Authentication, a Google service.
Account data
Your email address and a unique account identifier are stored by Firebase Authentication to run your account. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.
Google sign-in
If you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic Google account details (such as your name and email address) with the app to create and identify your account. Google's own privacy policy governs Google's side of that sign-in.
Automatic technical data
During sign-up and sign-in, Firebase Authentication automatically processes your IP address and technical device and app information (user-agent strings) to keep sign-in secure and prevent abuse. Logged IP addresses are kept for a few weeks.
What is NOT collected
No phone numbers (there is no phone sign-in), no contacts, no location, no advertising identifiers. The app contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking. It talks only to Google's sign-in servers; there are no KubeAI servers and no other third parties.
What stays on your phone
Screen recording
When you start a recording, the app shows its own explanation, then Android's system consent prompt, and records your screen until you stop it. A recording can include anything visible on screen, including content from other apps. The text is read from the recording entirely on your phone.
Accessibility service
Sphere uses Android's accessibility API to scroll the screen and take screenshots during a capture, only while you have started one. It does not read text, window contents or what you type, and nothing it sees leaves your phone.
Your files
Recordings, screenshots and the finished texts are saved as ordinary files on your phone, in your own folder under Download/Sphere. They are never uploaded. They stay until you delete them, in any file manager.
Overlay and notifications
The sphere overlay and capture notifications run only while you use them; you can close the sphere at any time.
Deleting your account
In the app
Settings > Delete account. You may be asked to sign in again to confirm it is you. This deletes your account from Firebase Authentication; Google removes the data from its live and backup systems within 180 days.
Your captures
Deleting your account does not delete your captures: they are files on your phone in Download/Sphere and remain until you delete them.
By email
If you cannot reach the in-app deletion, write to saidi@kubeai.info from your account email and we will delete the account for you.
How long data is kept
Account data
Firebase Authentication keeps your account information until the account is deleted; after deletion it is removed from Google's live and backup systems within 180 days. Sign-in IP addresses are kept for a few weeks. Account data is processed by Firebase Authentication in the United States.
Captures
Only ever on your phone, until you delete the files.
Your rights
EU/EEA
You can ask for a copy of the data held about you, have it corrected, or have it erased, by writing to saidi@kubeai.info. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority - in France, the CNIL.
